LOVE Your Bedroom?

If you don't you totally should.
Your bedroom is like a safe haven from the world. It's ALL About YOU. It is the one place you go everynight and wake up to every morning...if you are waking up in a drab un-organized bedroom- do you find yourself waking up with tension or stress? Think about it... I beleive a well designed and functional space creates a happy enviroment, and the best place to start is your bedroom! I found some great bedroom images for inspiration. Don't be afraid to add a little drama with some COLOR!

Shanghai

Shanghai, China
A00 Architecture and Studio 1:1 transformed a post office into the premier property of Urban Hotels & Resorts. The ENTRANCE is exquisite....

Check out the vintage suitcases which are the backdrop for the reception area...a great way to incoporate a recycled traveled feel.

A look into a suite...

Photo Match

I did this for a color rendering class over summer (Ya summer school...YUCK).
Its called a photo match, you take a magazine ad ,trace it (this is for developing color skills not drawing, hence the tracing) then do a marker wash as a base to develop the shadows. After that you add the colored pencil to show more detail and texture.

And Taaa-Dahhh!!!

I think it turned out alright, for the first time. I should probably do over & over again to maintain my color rendering skills...

Happy Weekend!

My day started off with me arriving at work and a pretty lil orange butterfly flying all around me as I walked from the parking lot to my office. (I was keeping in mind, I have heard that butterflys are good luck, and ecspecially good if they land on you) No, I'm not supersticious at all. (I'm being sarcastic) When I stepped out to pick up lunch, I kid you not, the same--or one just like--the butterfly from this morning was flying all around me as I left my office to my car! Well I have yet to leave my office, but if my orange little friend flys with me to my car, I'll be sure to report back!

**Anyone know anything about the butterfly signaling "good luck"? I'd like to know more.
Yaa for Friday! H A P P Y W E E K E N D !!

Minimal Manufacturing - Fulton.
Love this Chair! Laid-back high-back Fulton is the first in a series of lounge chairs by Scott Wilson. A base of stainless steel supports the walnut shell, which gently cradles an inviting foam-padded seat. The chair measures 37 inches high by 36 wide by 33 deep. mnml.com
Casamidy - Almidi Star.
Inspired by the art of Morocco, the Almidi Star tea table gives geometric patterning a clean, three-dimensional form. Handmade of wrought iron, with a glass top, it can be painted to match any Pantone or Benjamin Moore color. http://www.casamidy.com/ Artichoke Table Lamp. If you like fun Unique things, check out http://www.straydogdesigns.com/. They have quite an array of unique pieces just like this.

Fashion.

Absolutley Loving Rhianna's look....

The pencil skirt can be found a shopatmilk.com it is by designer Herve Leger & retails for $550.00! (courtesy of the-fashion-bomb blog)

My goal is to find a similiar skirt or a few for a much better price...cause lets be honest I am Young Fabulous & Broke....yep.
By the way that brand (Young Fabulous & Broke) they do have some great things out, however for the name of the collection I would hope it would be more affordable for the "young"....you would only think right?! Bluefly.com has some of their pieces for a better value. There are 2 dresses that I have my eye on...but lets see if they go cheaper than they are now...
This is what I came up with.....
